April is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

1. Pub Night Under the Stars

Enjoy an evening of food, beer and the latest news from space from 7-9 p.m. April 22 in the newly updated planetarium at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Each guest will receive an individual snack box featuring cheese, meats, pretzels, nuts and more from Canterbury Creations, up to three beers and an evening under the stars. This program will feature stories from the Apollo 16 mission to the moon, which occurred 50 years ago. 2. Salsa in the Peoria Heights

Enjoy an evening of cocktails and salsa dancing from 7 to 10:30 p.m. April 22 at the Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts, 1327 East Kelly Ave., Peoria Heights. Ed and Beverly Caballero will guide first-time and returning dancers through the steps to teach the basics of salsa, merengue and bachata. 3. Springfest with Eddie Korosa

Grammy nominee Eddie Korosa Jr. returns to Peoria for one night only on April 23 at the Lindenhof, 7601 N. Harker Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m. Korosa and his band will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission includes a German dinner buffet for $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-10, and free for children ages 5 and under. 4. Liv Warfield at the Scottish Rite Theatre in Peoria

Award-winning R&B artist Liv Warfield will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 23 at the Scottish Rite Theatre, 400 NE Perry Ave. The opening act will be Dexter O'Neal and the Funk Yard. Tickets start at $25 and are available at scottishritepeoria.com.

5. Unity with Ukraine symphony concert

The Peoria Symphony Orchestra will perform the music of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky at 7:30 p.m. April 23 at the Peoria Civic Center Theater. Special guest James Giles will join the PSO with a performance of Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major to begin the concert. The PSO will then take on Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 2 in C Minor — "Ukrainian" for the second half of the concert. Tickets range from $11 to $90 and are available at peoriaciviccenter.com.
