The Salt Shed, the new Chicago music venue in the restored Morton Salt Building at 1357 N. Elston Ave., has announced indoor concerts for 2023; highlights include The Flaming Lips celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots,” Bikini Kill’s first Chicago show since reuniting in 2019, and Iggy Pop. After opening late last summer for outdoor shows, its new owners — 16″ on Center is the hospitality group behind the project — have continued a reported $50 million conversion to turn the former industrial space along the North Branch of the Chicago River into both indoor and outdoor concert spaces, as well as spaces for food vendors, retailers and other experiences. Tickets for concerts will go on sale 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at www.saltshedchicago.com.
