Salvation Army donor matches Saturday donations for a total of $9,426 raised

Dec. 19—An anonymous Salvation Army donor matched the $4,713 collected from the red kettles in Morgan, Limestone and Lawrence counties Saturday for a total of $9,426 raised in one day.

"It makes sure that we have ample funds for the year going forward," said Capt. Thomas Marion of the Decatur Salvation Army.

"Especially in the summertime when our funds are low, the more we raise now the more we can do during the summer and during the fall time. This is our main fundraising season."
