Salvation Army final day of canned food drive

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Salvation Army has been collecting canned food items throughout February and on Wednesday, Feb. 28 will host a final day donation drive and BBQ.

The event will be held on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Salvation Army’s 908 Yuma Street near North Circle Drive. The community is encouraged to drop off non-expired canned food, or nonperishable items, the family or person must donate at least one canned good to get a free BBQ lunch.

The Salvation Army said the food pantry is critically low and cannot keep up with the increasing number of people coming to the pantry. The Salvation Army needs; canned food items, nonperishable items, and dry cereals. People are encouraged to donate on Wednesday, even if they cannot make the BBQ party.
