The Salvation Army opens registration for summer camp at Camp Paradise Valley

May 2—The Salvation Army of Richmond has announced they are now accepting registrations for summer camp at Camp Paradise Valley in Burkesville.

The camp lies on 400+ acres on the shores of Dale Hollow Lake and straddles the Kentucky-Tennessee state line.

The organizations invites all families with children ages 7 to 17 to sign up and join them for a week of fun, adventure, and learning in the great outdoors.

According to a release, children will have the opportunity to swim, hike, canoe, and participate in a variety of other outdoor activities at the summer camp. They will also have the chance to make new friends, learn valuable life skills, and grow in their faith.

The Salvation Army's experienced staff and counselors are dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where all children can thrive.

"We believe that summer camp can be a transformative experience for children, and we are excited to offer this opportunity to the youth in our community," said Captain Kevin Justice of The Salvation Army in Richmond. "At Camp Paradise Valley, children have the chance to disconnect from technology, explore the outdoors, and develop important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. It's an experience that can have a lasting impact on their lives and we are honored to provide it thanks to the support of our donors and volunteers."

Today, The Salvation Army operates camps around the world, providing children from all walks of life with the opportunity to experience the joys of camp.

Camp Paradise Valley has been a beloved fixture in the Kentucky and Tennessee community since it opened its doors in 1972.
