Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is coming back to “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” but where does that leave her ex-beau and fellow cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro?

The return of the Hazlet native after more than 10 years away from the show was announced Saturday, March 11, on social media with a picture of Giancola filming in a green room posted by the “Jersey Shore” accounts.

She’ll be on next season.

“She’s still the sweetest bitch you’ll ever meet,” read the tag line with camera and lips emojis.

“Jersey Shore” nation rejoiced.

“Our prayers have been answered!” tweeted a fan.

Cast members welcomed her with open arms.

“Omgomgomfomfomggondnsodhfh,” commented Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

Yet, one cast member has been silent. Ortiz-Magro has not commented on social media, or released any statements about Giancola's return. The two had an on-again, off-again tumultuous relationship on the original run of “Jersey Shore” from 2009 to 2012.

Giancola, 35, opted out of the “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” reboot in 2018.

“I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially toxic situations,” Giancola said in an Instagram post at the time. “It was a difficult decision as I love my roomies. I've decided to focus on me, my future and what truly makes me happy.”

Away from the show, Giancola had an engagement that was called off, a new romance, and she opened a boutique clothing store called “Sweetheart Coast” on the Ocean City boardwalk.

Ortiz-Magro was initially on part of the 2018 “Jersey Shore” reboot, but he kept on making headlines related to domestic violence incidents away from the show.

He pled no contest to one count of domestic battery and one count of resisting arrest from an October 2019 incident in the Hollywood Hills section of Los Angeles, when police were called to a home where he, ex-girlfriend Jen Harley and their then 20-month old daughter Ariana were staying.

Later, he was arrested on suspicion of intimate partner violence in April 2021 in Los Angeles, but avoided jail when a judge in September determined that the time he spent in treatment was significant enough to forgo a sentence behind bars.

MTV stated that Ronnie was stepping away from the show after the April 2021 arrest to address his mental health issues. He appeared in an August 2022 episode, stating that he's living in Los Angeles with his then 4-year old daughter Ariana.

“I have Ariana full time now. That is basically the best thing that’s happened to me,” said Ortiz-Magro on the show. “Part of being a full-time dad and having her all the time is I have to dedicate time to what she wants to do. My whole life revolves around this person, this little tiny person.”

Some fans are not eager for his return to the show with Giancola back in the fold.

“Plz tell me Ronnie isn’t going to be around when she comes back!!!” commented a fan.

Reps for MTV, Giancola and Ortiz-Magro either declined to comment or did not reply for a request for comment for this story.

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” airs 8 p.m. ET Thursdays on MTV.
