Are you in the market for a new phone? How about a laptop? A tablet? Some true-wireless earbuds? Samsung makes some of the top products in all those categories, and right now Amazon is running a pretty major sale on Samsung gear.

This is a bit unusual; I've seen individual products get discounted from time to time, but this sale includes nearly 20 items across four different categories. And some of the savings are significant, to the point where you might want to get a jump-start on any holiday shopping you've got planned.

Below I've listed a few of the highlights, followed by one item I consider a real standout. (Actually, two items — I had to throw in an honorable mention.)

Quick note: If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll snag free shipping, too, anywhere from same-day (!) to 2-day, depending on where you live. Not yet a member? Not a problem: You can sign up for a free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on most orders of $25 or more, though it won't be as fast.)

The single best deal in Amazon's Samsung sale

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro is a powerful laptop, one that's well-suited to work-from-home duties thanks to its spacious AMOLED screen and ample storage. It normally sells for $1,100, but right now you can get the Galaxy Book Pro 15.6 Core i5 512GB Mystic Blue for $841. (The Mystic Silver model is available as well, but priced $10 higher.) That already rivals the lowest price in history for this model — but, wait, there's more.

Here's what really puts this over the top: If you pay for the Galaxy Book Pro with your Amazon Prime Rewards Visa, you'll get 15% back instead of the usual 5%. That brings your net cost down to around $715, without question the best price on record. (Don't have that card? Right now Amazon is offering Prime subscribers a $100 gift card for signing up. Non-subscribers can get a $50 gift card.)

As for the laptop itself, it's fast, thin (under 0.5 inch), light (2.3 pounds) and long-lasting: Samsung promises up to 20 hours of operation on a charge.

Here's my only caveat: With just 8GB of non-expandable RAM onboard, the Book Pro is fine for everyday computing, but likely to struggle with giant spreadsheets, video editing or any other memory-intensive tasks.

Assuming those tasks aren't on your to-do list, this laptop definitely belongs on your short-list.

Honorable mention: The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7

When it come to tablets, it often seems like you've got just two choices: Apple's pricey iPads and Amazon's sandboxed Fires. There's nothing wrong with those — unless you're an Android user seeking an affordable, "pure Android" experience.

Good news: Samsung's Galaxy Tabs are a great option for the Android crowd, and right now you can get the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4-inch tablet (32GB) for $180. Available in silver or gray, it's $50 off the regular price.

The A7 features a slightly larger screen than the entry-level iPad 10.2, which starts at $329. It's a razor-sharp, high-resolution screen as well, flanked by four speakers that support Dolby Atmos. Although it has just 32GB of storage, there's a microSD slot for adding lots more on the cheap. (Example: Here's a whopping 512GB microSD card for just $27.)

Amazon's Fire HD 10 tablet is similarly expandable and starts at just $150, but it has a slightly smaller, slightly lower-resolution display. The real issue, though, is that it shoehorns you into Amazon's operating system, meaning you don't have access to the Google Play Store and all the apps therein.

The Galaxy Tab provides a much more traditional Android experience. It also comes with a free two-month subscription to YouTube Premium and six months of Spotify Premium. Combined value: $84.

Not sure you need a screen that big? Samsung's 8-inch Galaxy Tab A is on sale for $130. That's $70 off the regular price and a tie for the all-time low. Note, however, that while you also get the YouTube Premium freebie, Spotify isn't included here.
