SAN ANGELO — A San Angelo artist is offering a Uvalde tattoo design for $40, with all proceeds benefiting the families affected by the mass shooting at the town's elementary school.

Christian Castro, tattoo artist at Tatu Therapy, was thinking of a way to help the families involved in the shooting that killed 19 children and 2 teachers while wounding 17 others.

"The incident has been very heavy on my mind," Castro said in a Facebook post.

He decided to offer a tattoo representing the town at the shop at 227 S. Chadbourne St.

He said he doesn't have a date when he would end the fundraiser.

"I would like to do it as long as people are willing to get the tattoo," he said. "I’d like to contribute as much as I can to the families in mourning as long as I am able to."

He said people can be sure the money is being donated by offering them to pick from any of the verified fundraisers online.

"Once selected, I will enter the donator's name along with their contribution showing them proof that their money went directly to the families," he said.

Castro mentioned that other tattoo artist should feel free to use his idea as well.

"Anything to help us come together and stand with our fellow Texans who need our support in this time of mourning," he said.
