The sheriff’s department reported that at 4:54 a.m. on Sunday, a deputy assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga-based facility found inmate Adam Adams, 56, of Upland lying on the floor of his cell.

After the deputy attempted to wake Adams and found he remained unresponsive, deputies began life-saving measures and requested jail medical staff to respond.
