Will weekend road travelers in Southern California ditch their cars to avoid Interstate 15 after San Bernardino International Airport begins offering low-cost flights to Las Vegas?

Starting Feb. 16, Breeze Airways will offer direct flights to Sin City and one-stops to Hartford, Connecticut. The airline will also offer roundtrip flights each Thursday and Sunday.

Travelers will ride on a new Airbus A220 aircraft, with seat prices starting under $30, the airline said.

Breeze’s new destinations announcement comes less than three months after the carrier launched its first-ever scheduled passenger service from SBD.

The new flights to Las Vegas and Hartford on Airbus A220 aircraft—with three seating configurations that include “Nice, Nicer, and Nicest class”—joins current nonstop flights to San Francisco, which continue to Provo, Utah on the same airplane.

Flights from SBD connect to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Provo Municipal Airport and San Francisco International Airport.

“Our Inland Empire communities need more travel options, and Breeze Airways has delivered once again, with new flights to Las Vegas and Hartford, Connecticut,” said SBD’s Commission President and Mayor of the City of Colton Frank J. Navarro.

Breeze Airways’ President Tom Doxey said his company always looks forward to providing more convenient and affordable service for its San Bernardino guests.

“This new route will give everyone a faster, more convenient way from the Inland Empire to the entertainment capital of the world—and onto Hartford and the northeast,” Doxey said.

Breeze was founded in 2021 by aviation entrepreneur and JetBlue founder David Neeleman.

The airline focuses on connecting travelers in underserved cities with air service to the U.S. destinations they want to visit most, through efficient and affordable flights.

“Breeze has made an important impact in our community as residents have embraced affordable fares and exciting destinations,” said SBD CEO Michael Burrows. “San Bernardino International Airport continues to elevate its presence in the Southern California region and on the U.S. route map as we now offer coast-to-coast service. We thank our community and the Breeze team for their continued support and success.”

“Our community has embraced the ease of traveling through San Bernardino International Airport and flying on Breeze to San Francisco and Provo,” said Director of Aviation Mark Gibbs. “We heard our customers seeking more destinations and Breeze is delivering with new flights to Las Vegas and Hartford. Along with these new destinations, SBD’s onsite parking just footsteps from the terminal is only $5.00 per day.”
