San Joaquin County cooling zones offer relief during this week's triple-digit heat

Fall is more than a month away and triple-digit temperatures are still in full swing this week in San Joaquin County with daytime highs of more than 100 degrees forecasted through Friday.

There are four air-conditioned cooling zones available for those who want to escape the heat through Friday, Aug. 19. The city of Stockton's cooling zones will also be providing water. Pets are not allowed in the cooling zones.

The four locations will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Extreme heat precautions

San Joaquin County advises people to avoid the sun, drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol, decrease physical activity, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and monitor individuals at risk of heat-related health concerns. For those with furry pets, keep them indoors.
