San Marcos police ask for public's help to find suspect in Saturday homicide

San Marcos police are asking the public to help locate a suspect in a homicide that happened on Saturday.

Officials believe 18-year-old Ray Robert Saenz Jr. shot and killed Nathaniel Lamart Hudson, 41, at an apartment complex on Sept. 30. Police said they believe Saenz and Hudson knew each other and that Saenz shot Hudson after an altercation.

Officers responded to the shooting at 2 a.m. at a complex on Highway 123, according to a news release. When authorities arrived and found Hudson, medical personnel began administering life-saving measures, but those proved ineffective.

Police said bullet holes were visible in the dining area and that they collected several shell casings in the apartment. Saenz may be armed and dangerous, police said.
