There’s nothing worse than applying the perfect face of makeup, only for your eyeshadow to crease and your lipstick to bleed over the course of the day. Enter Kim Kardashian’s latest sworn-by beauty hack: Sandbagging.
Reportedly invented by Kardashian’s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, sandbagging is so called as it creates a barrier which prevents liquid based makeup from running.
The basic principle is that after you’ve applied your base, while you’re completing other areas of your makeup, you apply loose powder along your waterline and around your mouth, right up to your cheekbones (to lock in your lip line and contouring).
Once you’re done you can wipe away any excess powder with a makeup sponge or Beauty Blender (£16) - et voilà! Your makeup will stay up and look fresh all day.
Though it sounds a lot like Baking, Sandbagging is different in that the final aim is less about highlighting and more with the aim of helping your other makeup stay put, especially your eyeliner and mascara.
