Sandbox VR to open at Strip District Terminal

A new immersive virtual reality venue has set May 31 as its grand opening date at the Strip District Terminal in Pittsburgh after announcing its plans to open a location here last March.

It marks the first facility in Pennsylvania for Sandbox VR, a San Francisco-based entertainment provider that commands dozens of locations across the globe that offers people the ability to wear VR headsets, haptic vests and motion sensors for a video game experience that SandBox claims can best VR setups that would otherwise be limited to a home environment.

“The Strip District attracts Pittsburghers to live, work, shop, dine, and play, making it the perfect home for our newest location,” Steve Zhao, founder and CEO of Sandbox VR, said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to bring our world-class VR experience to the Pittsburgh community and give them the opportunity to experience a whole new reality.”
