If customers at Sandra's On The Park in Hales Corners haven't realized the restaurant is under new ownership, that's sort of the idea.

Shrey Devani and his wife, Niki, are the new owners, having recently purchased the eatery at 10049 W. Forest Home Ave. from Sandra Prosser, the restaurant's namesake.

The restaurant's name isn't changing. Neither are the hours, the menu, the staff or anything else.

"It was working fine, then why should I change something?" Shrey Devani said. "Everybody knows about the ribs, and they know our menus, and I should not make any changes in that."

The ownership transition started in October 2021, Devani said, but many didn't know about it until April 25, when Prosser shared the news on the restaurant's Facebook page.

"I would like to thank you for your business, support, and friendship over the past 7 years," Prosser said in the post. "Owning and operating our family-owned restaurants, Traditional Pancake House and Sandra’s on the Park, has given me considerable joy and fulfillment over the years. It was not an easy decision to step away and sell to the young couple Shrey and Niki, but one that was right for me and my family."

Traditional Pancake House, 5121 S. 76th St., Greendale, closed in 2020.

Prosser couldn't be reached for an interview, but in her post she said she's proud of what the restaurant accomplished and could not have done it without "loyal customers and my awesome and dedicated staff."

She said she looks forward to spending time with family, traveling and seeing where life takes her next.

The restaurant's house specialty is barbecued ribs. Devani said that won't change.

The menu also includes items such as steaks and chops, seafood, a Friday fish fry, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, salads, appetizers and a children's menu.

Devani said customer reaction to the change has been positive, and they're happy that what they've come to expect at the restaurant will not change.

He said one of the challenges has been something that's been facing many in today's business climate: hiring workers.

"Especially for the summer, we need more employees, so we are just working on finding new employees for our team," he said.

And now that warmer weather is starting to settle in, Devani said the restaurant's outdoor patio will be open soon.

Sandra's is open six days a week: 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday, 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. It's closed Mondays.

Sandra's opened in 2015, taking over the former Mia Famiglia space on West Forest Home Avenue.
