Work on Sandy Bottom project may lead to power outages

Feb. 18—ALBANY — The city of Albany is in the final stages of its Sandy Bottom Power Project, which is converting overhead power lines to underground.

As crews continue to complete the project, residents from Flint Avenue north to Eighth Avenue and from Jefferson Street east to Washington Street may experience intermittent power outages. Depending on the situation, these outages could last from two to six hours.

Work is expected to begin next week and continue into May or until the project is completed.
