Sanford Health seeks proposals to operate child care center near Bemidji Medical Center

Oct. 27—BEMIDJI — Sanford Health is welcoming proposals through a Request for Proposal process to team up with an experienced child care operator ready to manage a child care center adjacent to the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, located in the former Lake Region Bone and Joint Clinic.

The center will be owned and remodeled by Sanford Health with management provided by a licensed child care operator with a specific focus on infant and toddler care. Though preference will be given to Sanford employees, any additional spots at the center will be available to the public.

"The need for reliable, quality child care remains a significant challenge for health care workers and our community," shared Karla Eischens, president and CEO for Sanford Health in Bemidji. "Ensuring that staff have access to these services is critical to sustaining and growing the care we provide."

Construction on the center is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2024 with a planned opening in the coming fall. Sanford emphasized that this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced provider to expand their operations with minimal facility and lease costs and a ready-made client base.
