Residents in Santa Barbara County, California, were warned of fresh evacuations on October 12 as the Alisal Fire grew to 13,400 acres.

Authorities closed Highway 101 at Las Cruces and Goleta, as well as the Pacific Railroad and Amtrak lines from Gaviota to Goleta.

“Evacuation orders have been issued for Arroyo Hondo Canyon and Refugio Canyon west of Goleta. Please leave the area immediately,” the Forest Service said in an update. “An Evacuation Warning has been issued for the area between El Capitan Beach State Park and West Camino Cielo.”
