Santa Claus To Visit Madison Before Virtual Tree Lighting

MADISON, NJ — The coronavirus won't stop Santa Claus from visiting Madison. But thinks will be a bit different year.

Operation Santa Claus begins at 10 a.m. Friday, when Saint Nick begins his journey with the Madison Fire and Police Departments on Geraldine, the borough's antique fire engine.

Here's an interactive Google Map showing his ride through town. Santa will begin in Zone 1 and proceed accordingly.

Because of COVID-19, Santa will only wave. But his helpers will hand out treats to all who cheer him on.

Listen for the sirens to know Santa is on the way. Follow his journey via Facebook and Twitter.

The virtual Christmas tree lighting on Waverly Place will begin after Operation Santa Claus. The borough will broadcast it live on Facebook and Twitter, and it will get posted on www.rosecitychristmas.com.

The borough will post notice on its social media channels about five minutes before the lighting with direct links to livestreams.
