Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter hosting half-price adoption special all February

(BCN) — Throughout the month of February, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is hosting the “Somebody to Love” adoption special, featuring a 50 percent discount on adoption fees.

The shelter, located at 1001 Rodriguez Street, is open every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. In order to adopt, potential adopters need to be at least 21 years old, have a photo ID and should be thoughtful and considerate of pets suitable for their lifestyle and living environment.

The adoption fee for puppies under six months old is $105, while adult dogs can be adopted for $75. Kittens under six months old have an adoption fee of $60, and adult cats are available for adoption at $55. Rabbits can be adopted for a fee of $35.

The reduced adoption fee will still include vaccinations, a microchip and spay or neuter.

Staff and volunteers will have beautiful rabbits at the Brewery so folks can visit and learn all about the care and handling of rabbits and how much fun it can be to uncover their personalities!

Put on your jammies, bring the family and/or a date, and read some bedtime stories (or your favorite love poems) to shelter animals! You’ll help the animals settle into a cozy nights’ rest, and it’s a great way to check out the animals and see who shares your taste in literature!
