Santa elephants hand out face masks to Thai students
Four mahouts decked in Santa Claus-styled robes arrived on the backs of Santa-hat-clad elephants in front of a school in Ayutthaya province.
"I'm a little bit excited and a little bit sad because the elephants cannot go into the school," said 12-year-old student, Pacharamon Sukphiromsanti, who came out to greet the elephants at the gate.
In previous years, elephants and mahouts would walk around the school to hand out wrapped presents ranging from candy to toys as part of pre-Christmas festivities. But this year, they were not allowed in the school gates.
