Santa Fe average gas price drops another 12 cents

Oct. 31—The average gasoline price in Santa Fe dropped another 12 cents per gallon of regular unleaded fuel last week after falling 11 cents the prior week, the AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch reported Thursday.

The average price in Santa Fe was $3.56 per gallon, with Albuquerque having the cheapest gas in New Mexico at $3.45 per gallon, Farmington the most expensive at $3.92 and Las Cruces at $3.69.

The New Mexico statewide average gas price was $3.60, well below the national average of $3.76, AAA reported.

Global recession fears coupled with the Biden administration's plan to continue tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve into December have helped temper oil prices over the past week, AAA stated.

"With colder weather settling in across many parts of the country, lower demand in the coming weeks could help keep a lid on gas prices," AAA New Mexico spokesperson Daniel Armbruster said in a news release.
