Santa Fe High, police investigate threat; lockdown lifted

Jan. 22—Santa Fe High School was placed on a brief lockdown Monday morning as law enforcement and school officials investigated an alleged threat made by one student against another.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, the lockdown, put in place as a precaution, was being lifted, Santa Fe Public Schools Superintendent Hilario "Larry" Chavez wrote in a message to The New Mexican.

There is no immediate danger to students or staff and no evidence of the threat being credible, he added.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
