Santa Run 2020 Schedule Released In Town Of Vienna

VIENNA, VA — Santa Claus is coming to town to spread joy amid the continuing coronavirus pandemic. Santa's visits to Vienna, led by the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, will start on Dec. 12 through Dec. 19.

As always, Santa will ride atop the 1946 Maxim fire engine, which is celebrating its 75 years of service. New safety protocols are being implemented this year due to the pandemic. Santa's helpers will be wearing masks, observing social distancing and will not be handing out candy. Residents are encouraged to come outside and greet Santa while maintaining social distancing.

The schedule is the same as last year, but Santa's visits will start at 5 p.m. Below is the anticipated schedule, subject to change due to weather or mechanical issues. The specified areas can be viewed on a map.

  • Saturday, Dec. 12, 5 p.m.: SW2 Vienna

  • Sunday, Dec 13, 5 p.m.: SW1 Vienna

  • Tuesday, Dec. 15, 5 p.m.: NE1 Vienna (Between W&OD Trail and Beulah Road)

  • Wednesday Dec. 16, 5 p.m.: NW1 Vienna (Between Lawyers Road and W&OD)

  • Friday, Dec. 17, 5 p.m.: SE Vienna

  • Saturday, Dec. 18, 5 p.m.: NW2 Vienna (West of Madison High School and Lawyers Road)

  • Sunday, Dec. 19, 5 p.m.: NE2 Vienna (East of Beulah Road)

The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department is also taking orders for a limited-edition ornament showcasing the 1946 Maxim fire engine. The fire engine was in service at the volunteer fire department from 1946 to 1968 and was purchased by the Auxiliary in 1993. Today, it is on display for parades, birthday parties, Santa Runs, Chanukah celebrations and more events.
