SantaCon, holiday plays, markets on tap for weekend in Sioux Falls

Holiday festivities are underway and dominate this weekend's event calendar, which features both paid and free events.

For those 21 and older, a pub crawl will be held on Saturday. There will also be a couple of holiday markets and a play.

Here are five things to do this weekend in Sioux Falls.

SantaCon

It'll mark the tenth year of Sioux Falls SantaCon when people will break out their Santa gear and participate in a pub crawl by visiting different downtown establishments on Saturday.

The pub crawl will start at PAve at 4 p.m., with the first stop starting at 5:30 at Club David. It'll go to two more bars following, and more information can be found on the event's Facebook page. It's a free event, but participants are encouraged to bring cash.

A Christmas Carol

The Orpheum Theater Center will host a number of showings of "A Christmas Carol," a holiday classic. The plays will be performed by The Premier Playhouse.

On Saturday, there will be two showings, a matinee at 2 p.m., and a nightcap at 7 p.m. There will also be a 2 p.m. show on Sunday. Tickets range from $30 to $35 and can be purchased online.

Holiday Pop-Up Shoppe

If you're behind on your holiday baking, or simply don't want to, there'll be a Holiday Pop-Up Shoppe on Saturday, hosted by Chef April.

There will be lefse, hot chocolate bombs, and options for both cookies and snacks. There will also be soup and appetizers at the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 3210 E. 10th St., in Sioux Falls.

Holiday Market

A number of businesses and vendors will gather in Brandon this weekend as part of the Holiday Market. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Faith United Church.

Jolly Joy Ride

The Sioux Falls Bicycle Company will host a "Jolly Joy Ride," a festival family-friendly ride.

The event starts at 4:30 p.m., at the Sioux Falls Bicycle Company, with the ride scheduled to begin at 5:30. The route will take riders to Falls Park. Attendees will also be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card and night safety gear is strongly recommended.
