Santo Domingo Mayor Wades Through Floodwaters From Tropical Storm Laura
Carolina Mejia, the mayor of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and other government officials visited areas of the city affected by Tropical Storm Laura on Sunday, August 23, video shows.
Local news reports said several buildings collapsed in the La Yuca, a neighborhood in the Los Rios area of Santo Domingo.
Videos released by the mayor’s office show Mejia and company wading through floodwater in La Yuca on Sunday.
