SAPD addresses string of car burglaries in southwest San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Police Department took time to address the public about a recent string of car burglaries in the southwestern portion of San Angelo after six cars were reported to have been broken into this morning.

In a social media post made on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 8, the SAPD stated that the crimes all share one thing in common apart from being in the same region of town: “the suspect(s) are forcing entry into the vehicles by breaking the windows to steal the victim’s property.”

To help combat the uptick in car burglaries, the police department has asked residents in the southwest parts of town to comb through any surveillance cameras they may have in search of footage of any possible suspects.

The SAPD also asked citizens to report any suspicious activity and follow three crucial steps to help reduce their chances of becoming another victim:

  • Hide your keys

  • Lock your car

  • Take your keys

If you have any information or video footage of possible suspects, please contact SAPD non-emergency dispatch at 325-657-4315.
