Main Street blocked off due to gas leak

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Something’s in the air, and it isn’t any pre-Valentine’s Day love.

The San Angelo Police Department issued an alert via Nixle at 3:24 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, asking residents to avoid sections of Main Street due to a gas leak in the area.

The SAPD has advised locals to steer clear of the following areas:

  • Main Street from 8th Street to 18th Street

  • The western side of the Main Street and 18th Street intersection

Concho Valley Homepage staff members at the scene reported a very foul smell in the air (we thank you for your self-sacrificial reporting, you’ve earned a lit candle). Residents who live or work in or around the affected area may be subject to the stench for some time.
