Maple Weekend is celebrated twice, March 18-19 and March 25-26. Here are some local sugar houses participating in the region.
The Ashokan Center: March 18-19, 477 Beaverkill Road, Olivebridge. Maple Fest, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., $8 in advance: $10 day of; children under age 5 admitted for free. Come enjoy a day of maple sugaring, pancakes (extra fee), and good times for all ages. Fresh Air Fund Maple Farm: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., March 25 only, 436 Van Wyck Lake Road, Fishkill, free. Visit the Sugar Shack and participate in a variety of family activities including live animals, annual maple syrup judging contest, planetarium and local vendors.
