Disney+ released a sequel to the cult classic film "Hocus Pocus" on Friday, Sept. 30, nearly 30 years after the original movie's debut. The long-awaited sequel is the streaming service's No. 1 domestic movie debut to date, according to People Magazine.

Like the 1993 original, "Hocus Pocus 2" stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Ohio native Sarah Jessica Parker. The three reprised their roles as the Sanderson sisters, casting a spell on audiences across the country yet again.

The film, which is quite popular on social media, has reminded local fans of Parker's connections to our beloved Queen City.

But if you're unfamiliar with SJP's Ohio roots, continue below to read about her time in the Buckeye State, specifically Cincinnati.

Sarah Jessica Parker was born in Nelsonville

Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965, in Nelsonville, Ohio, to Barbra Forste (nee Keck), a nursery school teacher, and Stephen Parker, a journalist.

According to the Daily Mail, Parker's parents divorced when she was three. Her mother then remarried Paul Giffin Forste, a truck driver and account executive. Parker remained in the Southeast Ohio town until the age of four when her family relocated to Cincinnati.

Parker's mother is a native Cincinnatian

Forste, Parker's mother, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 2, 1938, and is of German descent. Parker admitted she didn't know much about her mother's Cincinnati German roots during her appearance on NBC's genealogy series, "Who Do You Think You Are?"

The star returned to Cincinnati for the show to retrace her German roots, and even took a walk down Ludlow Avenue. She also met with genealogist Natalie Cottrill at the Cincinnati Public Library's Clifton branch and UCLA history professor Stephen Aron at the Cincinnati Museum Center.
