Sarah Lancashire has hair transformation in first-look at new Netflix spy show Black Doves

A first look at upcoming Netflix spy series Black Doves has been unveiled, showing star Sarah Lancashire with a big hair transformation.
The Happy Valley star was confirmed to be joining the show, which also stars Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw, last year.
As part of a preview of Netflix's 2024 shows and movies, a brief glimpse at the thriller has now been released, showcasing an interaction between Knightley and Lancashire's characters Helen Webb and spymaster Reed.

"What is the job? Will I be in danger?" Helen asks, before Reed – who is sporting a short grey hair look – replies: "Yes."
The series follows Helen, a politician's wife who is also a spy passing on secrets about her husband on to the secret Black Doves organisation.
When her lover Jason is assassinated, however, she turns to friend Sam Young (Whishaw) as they set out to find the truth over Jason's death.
Sam, who is an assassin, has his own problems as his past threatens to come back to haunt him, and together they embark on a mission that leads them to "uncover a vast, interconnected conspiracy".

The conspiracy in question "links the murky underworld of London to a looming geopolitical crisis – and leads them to question the cost of the moral choices they’ve made".
Speaking previously about Black Doves, creator Joe Barton (Giri/Haji) said: “I started writing the scripts for this show over last year’s Christmas holidays, fuelled by turkey sandwiches and discarded bottles of cream liquor.
“To be now going into production with a cast and crew full of people whose work I admire so much is unbelievably exciting and I couldn’t be more thrilled to get to see this show come to life.”
The series is also set to star Carnival Row's Andrew Buchan, It’s a Sin's Omari Douglas, Warrior's Andrew Koji and Andor's Kathryn Hunter.
Black Doves will stream on Netflix.
