Sarah Palin says Michelle Obama will be Dem nominee in 2024

Former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Monday she thinks former first lady Michelle Obama will be the Democrats’ 2024 nominee, adding that President Biden is “out.”

Responding to a series of 2024 election conspiracy theories in which Biden could be removed from office, the former Alaska governor wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Don’t be surprised. But I still say it’ll be Michelle O’ #2024Election. Biden’s out.”

Obama has repeatedly said on the record she does not want to run for president, which has done little to quell such suggestions. The Hill reached out to her spokesperson for further comment.

Last week, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) argued Democrats could “parachute” her in as the nominee if Biden drops out.

At 80, Biden is the oldest U.S. president. If reelected in 2024, he would be 86 at the end of his second term. Polling shows voters continue to see his age as an issue as Biden’s reelection campaign and the White House ramp up efforts to quash such concerns.

When faced with questions on the president’s age, the campaign and the White House have often argued people should judge him on his ability to perform the job.

But Biden’s disapproval rating hit the highest mark of his presidency in a NBC News poll released Sunday, and there are lingering concerns among Democrats about his viability in a general election.

Polling in recent weeks show Biden is in a virtual dead heat with former President Trump, who has maintained his position as front-runner in the GOP primary. A recent Washington Post/ABC News poll showed Biden trailing Trump 42 percent to 51 percent, though the Post has suggested this data is likely an “outlier.”
