Sarasota Chamber awards best in small business

Some of the best and brightest small businesses in Sarasota were honored last week at the Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Awards.

The awards, held at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota on Friday, June 17 and hosted by the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, honored 27 local businesses in nine categories. Winners were announced live and an awards reception, sponsored by Gulfside Bank, was held afterward for all the honorees.

Here is a list of the winners and finalists from the ceremony, presented by the Herald-Tribune:

  • Large business award, for companies with more than 150 employees: Winner was PGT Innovations; finalists included Bank of America and Trulieve.

  • Medium business award, for companies with 25-150 employees: Winner was J2 Solutions, Inc. and finalists included Ramos Center for Interventional and Functional Pain Medicine and Sirius Day Spa, Salon & Med Spa.

  • Small business award, for companies with one-25 employees: Winner was Trade Mark Interiors; other finalists were IAS Marketing Services and Wealth Strategies Partners.

  • Community Impact Award: Winner was Lightspeed Voice; finalists were Catalist Realty and Michael Saunders & Company.

  • Minority Business Award: Winner was Around the Way Transportation; finalists were Abundant Blessing Consulting Services and King HR Services Inc.

  • Nonprofit Award: Winner was Children First; finalists were Senior Friendship Centers and Teen Court of Sarasota, Inc.

  • Rising Star Award: Winner was Dapper Bowtique; finalists included Atlas Fiduciary Financial and Bone Dry Roofing.

  • Woman-owned Business Award: Winner was Grapevine Communications; other finalists were Luhrsen Goldberg and Operation Warrior Resolution.

  • Workforce Development & Innovation Award: Winner was Goodwill Industries Manasota, Inc.; finalists were 360 Orthopedics and HBK CPAs & Consultants.
