The Nocks competed on the special winter series “America’s Got Talent: Extreme” with their sway pole act, alongside numerous other danger acts. But after advancing from their initial audition, they had to withdraw from the finals after Michaelangelo got sick. .

Michelangelo is a brother to noted comic daredevil Bello Nock, who has starred in numerous circus productions and competed himself on an earlier season of “America’s Got Talent.”

Earlier generations of the Nerveless Nocks got national attention on “The Ed Sullivan Show” in 1964 on the night of the second performance by The Beatles.

Before their “Extreme” audition aired, Michelangelo Nock told the Herald-Tribune that they had a great experience filming with the crew and judge and show creator Simon Cowell, who is one of the four panelists who will decide whether they move forward this time. Nock described Cowell as “the guy who single-handedly brought our type of entertainment back to the top of the industry, variety entertainment.”

A number of performers with ties to the Sarasota area have appeared on “America’s Got Talent” over the years, including another sway pole artist, Cyndel Flores, who also competed on the winter “Extreme” series. The Pork Chop Revue from Myakka City, appeared on “AGT” in 2020. That same year, Bello Nock performed with his daughter Annaliese.

The young singer Emanne Beasa of North Port competed in 2019 when she was 10.
