On Saturday The Blue Angels Will Fly Over ATL To Thank Workers

ATLANTA, GA — The United States Navy Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds will fly over Atlanta Saturday as part of a multi-city tour to honor those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re excited to fly over cities across America as our way of saying thanks to the healthcare workers, first responders, and all the people who selflessly run into the breach working to keep America strong,” said Gen. Dave Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Adm. Michael Gilday, Chief of Naval Operations in a joint statement. “This is also our way of showing that we are all in this together and that America’s spirit will prevail.”

According to WSB, the show will include a dozen high-performance fighter jets that fly at speeds of up to 700 mph, sometimes within a few feet of each other. The metro Atlanta flyover is scheduled to begin at 1:35 p.m. and last about 25 minutes.

Earlier this week, they did precision flyovers in New York and Philadelphia.

The Thunderbirds flew over several Colorado cities following the Air Force Academy's graduation near Colorado Springs last Saturday.
