LAFAYETTE, Ind. — It's the month of May, when the Lafayette Farmer’s Market returns to downtown Lafayette, this year welcoming 55 different vendors.

Starting Saturday and every subsequent Saturday until the end of October, the Farmer’s Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on 5th Street, stretching two blocks between Main and Ferry streets.

There will be plenty of options to choose from at this year’s weekly event.

For anyone looking to pick up some produce or meat, several vendors will be participating: Beck’s Family Farm will be selling produce like green beans, tomatoes, and zucchinis as well as eggs and meat; Farm Valentino, with a huge variety of produce, including asparagus, tomatoes, cabbage, and more; and Royal View Farms LLC, selling locally raised hormone-free freezer beef raised in Royal Center, Indiana, to name a few.

Some vendors are eligible to accept supplemental nutrition assistance (SNAP), or Women, Infants & Children (WIC) as payment. To find out which vendors accept SNAP or WIC, it can be found on lafayettefarmersmarket.com.

For those looking to pick up some local sweets, the farmer’s market will be hosting several bakeries, such as Scones & Doilies, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Sweet Revolution Bake Shop and more.

“We hope everyone in the community stops by and supports our local vendors,” said Shelby White, The Greater Lafayette Commerce content marketing specialist.

“The market has something for everyone.”

Starting May 22, the Lafayette Farmer’s Market will be hosting live performances from artists across the state and country.
