Saturday's high school highlights

Dec. 5—GIRLS BASKETBALL

NON-CONFERENCE

—Natalie Bremer finished with a game-high 26 points and collected five rebounds to help Lake City (2-1) knock off Lewiston-Altura (0-3).

—Elisabeth Gadient recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Tori Miller scored a team-high 15 points to help Goodhue (4-0) beat Sauk Centre 51-38.

—Priya Kingsley drained four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 21 points and Sydney Torgerson finished with 16 as Houston dominated Alma-Pepin 81-44.

—Natalie Beaver canned three triples on her way to a game-best 21 points in Hayfield's 61-39 win over Kingsland. Kristen Watson added 12 points and Josanne Tempel finished with 10 to help the Vikings improve to 3-0. Chantle Reiland recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Kingsland (2-1).

—Sophomore Taylor Clarey made a program-record seven 3-pointers, finishing with a game-high 29 points and Century outscored New Prague by 19 in the second half to collect their first victory of the season 70-48.

BOYS BASKETBALL

NON-CONFERENCE

—Carter Todd scored a game-high 21 points as La Crescent-Hokah won their opener in overtime 65-54 over Cannon Falls. Aiden Johnson scored 17 on three 3-pointers and Dylan Banks added 15 for the Bombers.

—Hayfield's Isaac Matti and Easton Fritcher combined for 37 points and defending state champion Hayfield beat Kingsland 70-44. Matti had 20 points, Fritcher 16.

—Tyson Grinde scored 20 points and Spring Grove beat New Hampton (Iowa) 45-41 in the Iowa-Minnesota Border Battle at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

GIRLS HOCKEY

BIG NINE CONFERENCE

—Abigail Conners made 16 saves and Nina Luke scored the game-winning goal on a power play as Century/John Marshall beat Red Wing 3-1 to earn its first victory of the season. Daelyn Williams and Annika Torbenson also scored for C/JM, while Alexis Pauzauskie scored for Red Wing.

—Grace Kober made 25 saves, but Mayo fell to Albert Lea 5-1. Katherine Cummings scored the Spartans goal.

—Kate Holtz had a hat trick and an assist for Austin, but Owatonna sneaked past the Packers 5-4 on Saturday at Owatonna. Kyia Radford-Garcia made 38 saves in the loss.

NON-CONFERENCE

—Mollie Koch had a hat trick and an assist, while Nora Carstenson had a goal and three assists to help Dodge County to its first win of the season, 7-0 at Winona. Ida Huber recorded a 12-save shutout, and Aliya Gricius made 49 saves for Winona.

BOYS HOCKEY

NON-CONFERENCE

—Matt Mahoney scored twice and Xander Carter-Kleven made 23 saves as Rochester Lourdes beat St. Paul Highland Park 3-2 to earn its first win of the season.

—Cody Vlasaty made 33 saves to earn his first varsity win in goal as John Marshall won 4-1 at St. Paul Johnson. Ryan Hus scored twice, while Cody Ahlstrom had a goal and an assist for the Rockets (2-1-0).

—Dodge County had seven players record multi-point games and Ben Nelson made 16 saves to get his first win of the season as the Wildcats won at La Crescent-Hokah 11-2. Miles Smith led the way offensively for the Wildcats with a hat trick, while Cooper Jacobson had a goal and two assists.

—Ethan Knox made 45 saves for Austin, but Windom overpowered the Packers in a 12-0 non-conference victory.
