Here are Saturday's high school sports results

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Oshkosh North Invite

OSHKOSH - Laconia took second place at the tournament, finishing with a 4-1 record.

In pool play, the Spartans beat Reedsville 25-12, 25-19; beat Green Bay East 25-6, 25-13; and beat Green Bay NEW Lutheran 25-22, 25-21.

Laconia beat Pulaski 18-25, 25-14, 15-8 in the semifinals before losing to Waupaca in the championship match 25-21, 16-25, 13-15.

Payton Morgan had 45 digs, 12 kills and five aces, Lexie Janeczko had 50 digs, Aubrey Leonard had 49 digs and six aces, Pallen Kloetzke had 85 assists, and Emma Bohn had 75 digs for Laconia.

Eva Engel added 36 kills and 10 blocks, Mattie Isaac had 28 kills and 25 blocks, Mariska Kees had 12 aces, Tierney Madigan had 12 digs and nine kills, and Callista VandeBerg had 14 kills and 10 blocks for the Spartans.

Pulaski finished in third place. The Red Raiders swept Oshkosh North 25-13, 25-13 and Roncalli 25-9, 25-6 before losing to Waupaca 22-25, 25-23, 7-15. Pulaski then lost to Laconia in the semifinals before beating NEW Lutheran 25-12, 26-24.

Alexia Thibodeau had 44 kills and 43 digs, Emily Bruss had 77 assists and 22 kills, and Addy Krueger had 19 kills for Pulaski. Ashton Birr added 54 digs and Hailey Wiedeman had 44 digs.

Green NEW Lutheran took fourth place with a 2-3 record.

The Blazers went 2-1 in pool play with wins over Green Bay East 25-13, 25-7 and Reedsville 25-16, 25-18, before losing to Laconia. In bracket play, the Blazers lost to Waupaca 18-25, 16-25 and Pulaski.

Greta Wise had 50 kills, 51 digs and four blocks, Abby Kirchner had 69 assists, 33 digs and seven aces, Lexi Dhein had 34 digs, and Emma Laatsch had nine kills. Lexie Meerstein added 15 kills and four aces for the Blazers.

Eau Claire Memorial Invite

EAU CLAIRE - Marshfield took first place, sweeping all three opponents, and Tigers senior libero Elise Uphoff reached 1,000 career digs during the tournament.

Marshfield beat Medford 25-16, 25-11 and Eau Claire Memorial 25-19, 25-18 in pool play. In the championship match, the Tigers swept Onalaska 25-18, 25-10.

Abby Ongna had 21 kills and 19 digs, Caitlyn Pernsteiner had 16 kills and Grace Taylor had 14 kills for Marshfield. Reinya Balderson added 50 assists and five service aces, and Uphoff had 30 digs.

Neenah Invitational

NEENAH - Manitowoc took first place in the event, while the host Rockets went 0-4.

Neenah lost to Bay Port 26-24, 18-25, 15-17; to Verona 9-25, 13-25; to Manitowoc 18-25, 10-25; and to Hortonville 25-19, 20-25, 17-19.

Statistical leaders for the Rockets were Carly Stamm with 12 kills and four blocks; Claudia Merizon with 10 kills, seven aces, 30 assists, 12 digs and three blocks; Elizabeth Oldenburg with 25 digs and six aces; Haley Mayer with seven kills; Jenna Lawatsch with 45 digs; Marissa Corso with 11 kills, 10 digs and four blocks; Leia Kersten with 21 assists; and Makenna Baker with five blocks.

Wrightstown Invitational

WRIGHTSTOWN - St. Mary Catholic finished eighth in the 12-team invite.

In pool play, the Zephyrs finished 1-1 after losing to Freedom 16-25, 17-25 and beating Manitowoc Lutheran 25-20, 25-19. In gold bracket play, the Zephyrs lost to Winneconne 11-25, 22-25, lost to Wrightstown 14-25, 25-16, 7-15, and lost to Houghton 23-25, 25-18, 2-15.

Leading the Zephyrs were Lauren Fischer with 33 kills, Eliana Brenn with 14 kills, Audrey Norvelle with 12 kills, Olivia Noel with 37 assists and Stella Virlee with 26 assists.

Marawood Crossover Tournament

ABBOTSFORD - Six teams participated in the event including Abbotsford, Athens and Chequamegon from the Marawood North and Assumption, Newman Catholic and Edgar from the Marawood South.

Abbotsford went 2-1 on the day, defeating Assumption, 20-25, 25-18, 15-9; losing to Newman Catholic 25-23, 26-28, 10-15; and defeating Edgar 25-21, 25-22.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Homestead Invite

MEQUON - Kimberly finished in third place out of 16 teams, posting a 4-1 record.

The Papermakers swept Racine St. Catherine’s, Hartford and Westosha Central in pool play, then beat Homestead 34-32 in the playoffs before getting swept by Sussex Hamilton 21-18, 21-14.

Brady Koester had 23 kills, Garret Biesterveld had 18 kills, and Aaron Nelson had 65 assists and 20 digs for Kimberly. Kevin McGrath added 34 digs, Lucas Eckrose had 21 kills, Kaden Grall had six aces, 15 digs and 13 kills, and Gage Stahmann had five aces, seven digs and 10 assists.

“The highlight was our quarterfinal win against Homestead. It was one game to 30 points, which is very unique,” Kimberly coach Matt Seidl said. “We were down 26-29 and came roaring back to win 34-32. Amazing fight and effort by our guys.”

BOYS SOCCER

Green Bay Preble 5, Sun Prairie East 1

DE PERE - Carter Wiernasz and Yosef Navarro each scored twice to lead the Hornets to the victory.

Abraham Navarro also had a goal, and Fernando Calzada made four saves in goal for Preble.

Pacelli 40, Kingdom Prep Lutheran 14

STEVENS POINT - Brock Birrenkott ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals, while Bennett Eckendorf had two touchdown runs and an interception return for a touchdown in the victory.

MADISON - Abundant Life rolled up 581 yards of total offense as it cruised to the 8-player Southern Conference-East Division win.

Jonah Coon led the offense, completing 9 of 16 passes for 184 yards and three scores, while Paul Emmel carried 25 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

Kean O’Neal paced the Resorters’ offense, completing 17 of 35 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown, while rushing 13 times for 74 yards.

Quarterback Brian Ball added 65 yards rushing and 32 passing for Merrill.
