WALES - The Patriots found 3-point shooting to their liking against the Wildcats, making 14 3-pointers en route to the win.

Sammi Beyer, who scored a team-high 22 points for Appleton East, scored 20 in the first half. Emily La Chapell scored 12 of her 16 points in the second half. Lily Hansford added 12 points.

Megan Murphy and Paige Lambe led Verona with 16 and 13 points, respectively.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Trailing by eight points at halftime, the Dons turned things around, outscoring the Wildcats by 21 points in the second half to get the victory in the consolation game of the Cranberry Classic.

Jenna Kibbel led Columbus Catholic with 20 points. Courtney Sommer scored 14 points, while Maggie Callaghan added 10 points.

Kewaunee started the game with a big run, leading 22-6 and forcing Wrightstown to play from behind.

Keegan Spees led Wrightstown with 21 points. Van Zeeland added 13 while Owen Ratkowski contributed 11 points.

Central Wisconsin, which outshot University School 50-12, got two assists from Tristan Wicklund and one assist from Taylor Freidel, Federici and Heuser.

Chloe Lemke had 12 saves for Central Wisconsin. Sammy Stommel had 46 saves for University School.

VIROQUA 5, WISCONSIN VALLEY UNION 0

VIROQUA - The Blackhawks took a 2-0 lead in the first period and outshot the Eagles 28-17 over the course of the game to get the win.

Leonie Boettcher scored four of Viroqua’s goals. Rachel Simonson had the other goal.

Makenna Rudie had 17 saves for Viroqua.

Madison Wagner-Durr had 23 saves for Wisconsin Valley Union.

BOYS HOCKEY

WAUSAU WEST 4, SUPERIOR 2

EAU CLAIRE - The Warriors built a 3-0 lead and allowed the Spartans to pull within one goal in the third period before holding on for the win.

Thomas Gerum scored twice for Wausau West, with Cade Gruber and Brody Brimacombe both adding goals. Gerum, Caden Bohlin and Tyler Cleveland each had assists for Wausau West.

Adam Prokop had 40 saves for Wausau West. Superior’s Trevor Soderlund had 21 saves.

STEVENS POINT 5, MADISON MEMORIAL 2

MADISON - The Panthers trailed 2-1 in the second period when Mason Dillingham, Kade Smigaj and Simon Bienvenue each scored goals to propel Stevens Point to the win over the Spartans.

Matthew Eiden scored for Stevens Point in the first period, while Bienvenue scored in the third period.

Cael Bolton and Smigaj both had two assists. Jackson Schroeder and Bienvenue both had one assist.

Will Beversdorf had nine saves for Stevens Point, while Hunter Christjohn had 25.

HOMESTEAD 6, FOX CITIES STARS 2

MEQUON - The Highlanders built a 6-0 lead before the Stars scored twice in the third period.

Scoring for Fox Cities was Owen Mursau and Owen Eckes. Spencer Winnekens assisted on Mursau’s goal while Owen Wheel and Aidan Eckes assisted on Owen Eckes’ goal.

Truett Wilson had 15 saves for Fox Cities, while Dylan Grammont had 25.

Connor O’Brien had 28 saves for Homestead, which was led by Michael Birmingham with two goals and two assists.

BROOKFIELD 9, WAUPACA 2

SHEBOYGAN - The Stars scored three goals in each period and skated to the win over the Comets.

Waupaca’s goals were scored by Sawyer Mielke in the second period and Sawyer Bohm in the third period.

Levi Olson assisted on Mielke’s goal. Blake Schoenecker and Mielke assisted on Bohm’s goal.

Hagen Rasmussen had 21 saves for Waupaca. Josiah Dieman had 12 saves for Brookfield.
