Saturday's HS roundup: Portsmouth's Bussiere nets game-winning OT goal

DOVER – Junior Finn Bussiere’s goal with one second remaining in overtime lifted the Portsmouth/Newmarket boys hockey team to a 4-3 win over Somersworth/Coe-Brown on Saturday at Dover Ice Arena.

Portsmouth senior captain Luke Suhesky had a goal and two assists, including one on the game-winner.

Bussiere also scored in the first period, while defenseman Max Durkin also scored. Senior goalie Jack Bussiere had 20 saves, earning the win.

BOYS HOCKEY

EXETER – Keegan Knight had two goals and Henry Fraser turned away 14 shots as Exeter earned this Division I win at The Rinks at Exeter.

Ty Robinson added a goal and two assists for the Blue Hawks, while Tyler Dickson also scored.

Cam Keaveney, Roger Davis, Eddie Hannan, Kam Hyles and Matt Wallace all had one assist for the Blue Hawks.

EXETER - Noah Andronaco and Cooper Kinnaly each had a goal for Winnacunnet in this Division II loss at The Rinks at Exeter.

Tyler Blank and Brayden Emery both had an assist for the Warriors, who got 26 saves for Owen Helton.

BERLIN – Brady Rogers had 20 points and Reece Rogers added 18 for St. Thomas Aquinas (5-1) in this Division III win.

Vinny Simonelli added 12 points for the Saints.

KITTERY, Maine – Emme Hale scored a game-high 23 points for the Rangers in this Class C South win.

SWIMMING

Portsmouth boys sweep

SALEM – Portsmouth senior captain Max Brown won both the 200-meter freestyle (2 minutes, 02.39 seconds) and 500-meter freestyle (5:40:14) in a four-team meet at the Salem Workout Club.

Portsmouth beat Pelham, Windham and Mascenic.

The Clippers got wins from seniors Will Margeson (100-meter butterfly, 1:00:85), and Sam Borne (100-meter backstroke, 1:12:38).

Portsmouth also won the 200-meter medley relay (1:55.91), 200-meter freestyle relay (1:45.11) and 400-meter freestyle (4:54.83).

Borne, Brown, Margeson, and Frank Krupp competed in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays, while the 400 freestyle team consisted of Miles Borne, Andrew Franas, Noah Viens, and Jake Leddy.

Portsmouth girls go 2-1

SALEM – Portsmouth sophomore Emily Stokel, in her first high school meet, won the 500-meter freestyle in a time of 6:27.13 in a four-team meet at the Salem Workout Club.

Portsmouth beat Pelham and Mascenic, and lost to Windham.

Portsmouth junior captain Sophia Dmytruk placed second in both the 200 IM (2:22.14) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:02:04). Senior Mya Catino was second in the 50 freestyle (31:30).

In the 200-meter freestyle relay, the Portsmouth quartet of Alexa Paul, Olivia Annunziata-Blaisdell, Mya Catino, and Dmytruk won in a time of 2:05:92, while teammates Jillian Richmond, Evy Wilkinson, Maia Little, and Amelia Tabit placed third (2:11:30).
