Saturday's primary elections: Here's what's on the ballot in Northeast Louisiana

Voters across Northeast Louisiana will go to the polls for municipal elections on Saturday.

Below are the items on the March 25 ballot for the following parishes:

Jackson

Justice of the Peace, Justice of the Peace District D

  • Eric Borland, Independent

  • Deanna McGee Carter, No Party

Lincoln

  • City of Ruston Proposition No. 1 of 5 − Wet/Dry 6% Pkg. Alcohol: Shall the sale of beverages of alcoholic content containing not more than six percent alcohol by volume be permitted by package only and not for consumption on the premises in the city?

  • City of Ruston Proposition No. 2 of 5Wet/Dry − 6% Con. Alcohol: Shall the sale of beverages of alcoholic content containing not more than six percent alcohol by volume for consumption on the premises be permitted in the city?

  • City of Ruston Proposition No. 3 of 5 − Wet/Dry − 1/2% Con. Alcohol: Shall the sale of beverage alcohol containing one-half of one percent alcohol by volume and above for consumption on the premises be permitted in the city?

  • City of Ruston Proposition No. 4 of 5 Wet/Dry − 1/2% Pkg. Alcohol: Shall the sale of beverages of alcoholic content containing one-half of one percent alcohol by volume and above by the package only and not for consumption on the premises be permitted in the city?

  • City of Ruston Proposition No. 5 of 5 − Wet/Dry − Restaurant: Shall the sale of beverages of high and low content be permitted only on the premises of restaurant establishments which have been issued an "R" permit as defined by law in the city?

Morehouse

Alderman − District B, City of Bastrop

  • Hercules S. Anthony, Democrat

  • Charles H. Bradford, Democrat

  • Bozie Brown, Democrat

Alderman − District C, City of Bastrop

  • James Green, Democrat

  • Tom Thrower, Independent

Ouachita

  • Parishwide Proposition − 1.75 Mills in Lieu − PJ − 10 Yrs.: Levy a special tax for operating, maintaining, sustaining and erecting the parish health unit, as well as constructing, equipping and operating a new animal shelter.

Tensas

  • Parishwide Proposition − 1/2 Sale & Use Tax Renewal − PJ − 10 Yrs.: Continue to levy a tax of one-half of one percent upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption, and the storage for use or consumption, of tangible personal property and on sales of service within the Parish.
