Sauk receives 33 BroadwayWorld Detroit Award nominations

The Sauk, Hillsdale County’s Community Theatre, has received 33 nominations in the 2021 BroadwayWorld Detroit Awards.

“The nominations are made by members of the public,” said Sauk Executive Director Trinity Bird. “That makes this overwhelming amount of love even more special. It has been a difficult year for theatre artists across the globe. To receive these nominations is a great reminder that what we do is important to our community.”

The Sauk received nominations for eight productions during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Two productions planned for 2022 also received nominations in the “most anticipated upcoming production” categories.

“We have had an outstanding season despite the challenges from the pandemic,” Bird added. “Our community is the best part of this community theatre.”

The winners are selected by a public vote. Anyone with an e-mail address can vote at https://www.broadwayworld.com/detroit/voteregion.cfm. Voting continues through December 31.
