SAULT STE. MARIE — Sault Area Public Schools recently announced that Jeanine Sherman has been selected as the new principal of Sault Area High School and Career Center.

Sherman is currently an assistant principal at Sault Area High School. She replaces Carl McCready, who is taking the Lincoln Elementary School principal position after the retirement of Diane Chevillot.

Sherman holds 17 years of education experience as a classroom teacher and administrator. During her eight-year tenure as assistant principal of Sault Area High School, Sherman led initiatives focused on student wellbeing, including her favorite event, freshman bootcamp.

"Mrs. Sherman's enthusiasm, creativity and passion for learning coupled with her commitment to the students, staff and the Sault community make her the perfect leader to ensure Sault Area High School remains a great place to learn," said Superintendent Amy Scott-Kronemeyer.
