ANDALUSIA, Ala (WDHN) — Alabama-based Conecuh Sausage is opening a second production facility in Andalusia with a multi-million dollar investment.

A release from the office of Governor Kay Ivey says the site of the new Covington County facility was chosen over several possible locations in the Midwest.

The new facility will create around 110 new jobs for the region.

“We are eager to join the Andalusia community and add jobs and growth to the local economy while remaining in the state of Alabama,” said owners, John Crum Sessions, president, and his son, John Henry Sessions, in a joint statement “We are thrilled with the opportunity to expand our production facilities and increase distribution to serve our loyal customers.”

According to the release, building and equipping the new facility will cost approximately $57.8 million.

The original location in Evergreen, Alabama, which opened in 1947, will continue to operate while the company expands.
