Savannah Bananas to play in Jacksonville two weeks after Daytona Beach visit
Can’t go when the Savannah Bananas play two games in Daytona Beach in February? Well, the team is providing another nearby option.
The Bananas will make a two-game stop at 121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville less than two weeks after their Volusia County stay. They take on their rivals, the Party Animals, at 7 p.m. March 4 and 1 p.m. March 5. The weekend will be the team’s first appearance in Duval County.
Last spring, the Bananas visited Jackie Robinson Ballpark for two sellouts. They will return to Daytona Beach for 7 p.m. games Feb. 22-23. Tickets will be released approximately two months before the games, according to the organization’s website.

Dubbed “The Greatest Show in Baseball,” the Bananas bring a different style to the diamond — similar to basketball’s Harlem Globetrotters.
They play under a strict two-hour time limit, and there are a number of non-traditional rules. No walks, no bunts and batters can steal first base. If a fan catches a foul ball in the stands, it counts as an out.
Players often perform group dance routines and find creative ways to approach the plate, being accompanied by a pep band or announcing themselves like Bruce Buffer. Former Major League stars Johnny Bench, Jake Peavy, Bill Lee and others joined the team at points during 2022.
Overall, the Bananas will play 74 games in 33 American cities during their 2023 tour. They play home games at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Georgia.
