'Save the lady's purse and catch this guy': Good Samaritans credited for taking down Modesto carjacking suspect

Good Samaritans are being credited for taking down a suspected carjacker in Modesto. The Modesto Police Department later identified and arrested Leonard Rosas, a 37-year-old resident of Ceres. Dave, who asked KCRA 3 to only share his first name is one of the people who helped catch the suspect. Dave had been working near the Dunkin’ Donuts on Oakdale Road on Monday when he said he heard a scream and a woman’s plea for help. “'Save the lady's purse and catch this guy,'” Dave said he recalled thinking as he sprung into action. Dave said he ran after the suspect who hid in a narrow gap near the fast-food restaurant and confronted him, telling Rosas, “you can come out or I’m pulling you out.” Rosas took a step out and that's when Dave grabbed the woman’s bag he said.
