Savor the Avenue: A four-course meal served in the middle Delray's Atlantic Avenue? You’ve got it.

DELRAY BEACH — A four-course meal served in the middle of Atlantic Avenue? You’ve got it.

On Monday, 12 local restaurants will be featured in the city’s 14th annual Savor the Avenue event. Created and produced by the Downtown Development Authority of Delray Beach, the event will offer signature meals and drinks crafted by each of the participating restaurants.

Though tickets are sold out, Monday’s tablescapes will be on display for passersby. The restaurants, too, will be open to the public.

Here’s what you need to know:

What is Savor the Avenue?

Picture a long table stretching down Atlantic Avenue. Yes, in the middle of the street. Now picture colorful tablemats and placements, each representing one of the 12 participating restaurants. And, of course, the hundreds of diners who will show up.

“Savor the Avenue is an event about our restaurants,” Laura Simon of the Downtown Development Authority said in a video promoting the event. “The restaurants, the employees, the people that work here, and it’s about the residents of our community.”
