ST. CLOUD — This month, the Sawatdee building will have two new building owners, who plan to start work in February reimagining the restaurant.

Adrienne Donnel and Annie Meyer have purchased the 9,000-square-foot building at 800 St. Germain St., according to a press release provided by Donnel. They plan to continue operating Sawatdee as-is through January and will start to renovate the building in February. According to the press release, the pair hope to finish the renovation and rebrand by March.

"They plan to retain patrons' favorite Thai dishes while adding a complement from Donnel's origins, Filipino cuisine," the release said.

The remodel will include adding a full bar. In the release, Donnel said she is looking forward to using exotic fruits, spices, homemade purees and simple syrups to make unique craft cocktails.

"Being able to bring my family recipes to a community where most have not indulged in Filipino cuisine, while still serving the best Thai food in the area is a dream come true," Donnel said in the release.

Meyer is a long-time Sawatdee employee and said she is excited to maintain a legacy of community and family started by Sawatdee.

"We are so appreciative of Sawatdee's current owner and founder Supenn and Noi and their entire family for believing in us and our abilities," Meyer said in the press release.
