Sayreville house fire sends three residents to hospital: police
SAYREVILLE – Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire at 75 Furman Ave. early Monday.
Sayreville police responded at 3:24 a.m. to the home where officers found it fully engulfed and the residents safely outside.
The Sayreville Fire Department arrived on scene along with Sayreville EMS, and adjacent homeowners were evacuated, police said.
The Sayreville and Hopelawn fire departments worked to extinguish the blaze, and the scene was cleared at 10:18 a.m., police said.
Sayreville EMS transported three residents to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation, police said.

Three vehicles in the driveway also were damaged in the fire, police said.

Police thanked the Perth Amboy, South Amboy, South River and East Brunswick fire departments who helped by standing by.
Police did not disclose a cause of the fire.
