SB Cubs final homestand on tap for this week

The South Bend Cubs (33-21) will play their final regular season homestand as they host the Lansing Lugnuts (25-29) beginning Tuesday at 7 p.m. in High A minor league baseball at Four Winds Field.

The Cubs are making a push for the Midwest League playoffs as they sit in first place in the West Division with second place Beloit five games back.

This week's entertainment will include a special appearance on Wednesday for a fan meet and greet autograph session with Chicago Cubs legend Kerry Wood. A Nico Hoerner bobblehead giveaway will also be Wednesday, with the first 1,000 fans through the gate receiving the item.

Labor Day weekend will include fireworks on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Tuesday's game (7:05 p.m.) is Triple Play Tuesday. A game tick, hot dog and 24 ounce fountain drive is $13 in advance and $14 on game day. Fans can also bring their dog to the park.

Wednesday (7:05) is the Kerry Wood meet and greet, which is sold out, along with Nico Hoerner bobblehead giveaway.

Thursday (7:05) is College Night and Thirsty Thursday. Sixteen ounce draft beer and 24 ounce fountain drinks are $2.

Friday (7:05) will feature post-game fireworks.

Saturday (7:05) is Spin to Win Saturday, along with Los Cabritos Maldichos (COPA) day, with post-game fireworks.

Sunday (7:05), fans can meet South Bend Cubs players for an autograph session from 5:15 to 6 p.m. and play catch on the field from 5:45 to 6:10 p.m. It is fan apppreciation night with in-game giveways and another post-game fireworks,

The Cubs went 3-3 at West Michigan last week, including a 7-1 victory on Sunday. Thursday's 13-3 victory saw Jordan Nwogu become the first South Bend Cub to hit three homers in a game. The former third round of the Cubs in the 2020 draft, finished the game 4-of-5 with four RBIs, five runs scored and a walk.
